Kilbol Country House Hotel History and Information
Originally a small farm belonging to the Mount Edgcumbe estate and dating back to the 16th Century.
Now the hotel is fully refurbished and in part rebuilt so as to offer eight rooms and one suite of rooms in the Hotel as well as two self-catering cottages.
The Kilbol is set in five acres of valley countryside, just two miles from the coast at Mevagissey and even closer to the Lost Gardens of Heligan. The Cathedral City of Truro is approximately 12 miles by car.
The Hotel is in the small hamlet of Polmassick which though only a smattering of cottages boasts a vineyard, a deer farm and of course Kilbol Country House Hotel. Peace and tranquillity abound – hence our logo Perfect Peace in Hidden Cornwall.
Within the gardens of the Hotel there is an outdoor swimming pool and a croquet lawn, as well as a riverside walk and a relatively newly planted 600 tree wooded area.
Other activities close by include all sea associated leisure pursuits; swimming, sailing, surfing and sea angling.
Golf – there are several courses around the Hotel. Gardens of Cornwall – there are three major gardens within two miles of the Hotel, including Heligan. By helicopter the Isles of Scilly are just 90 minutes from our front door.
